Tanqory Reaches Major Milestone for Global Platform
Tanqory celebrates a significant milestone in our journey to become a truly global commerce platform, expanding capabilities and reach for merchants worldwide.

Today marks an important moment in Tanqory's journey as we reflect on the progress we've made toward building a truly global commerce platform. Over the past year, we've expanded our capabilities, strengthened our infrastructure, and most importantly, helped more merchants reach customers across borders.
This isn't about celebrating a single number or achievement—it's about acknowledging the collective progress made by our team, our partners, and the merchants who trust us with their businesses. We want to share where we are, what we've learned, and where we're headed.
The Journey So Far

When we set out to build Tanqory, our goal was straightforward: make it easier for businesses of any size to sell globally. What we've learned is that "easy" means different things to different merchants, and building a truly useful global platform requires understanding those nuances.
Over the past year, we've focused on three core areas:
Expanding Market Access: We've added support for more markets, currencies, and payment methods. Each addition required careful integration work to ensure reliability and compliance with local regulations.
Improving Platform Stability: As more merchants rely on our platform for their daily operations, uptime and performance have become increasingly critical. We've invested significantly in infrastructure to maintain the reliability our merchants expect.
Listening and Adapting: Many of our most valuable improvements came directly from merchant feedback. Features that seemed obvious to us weren't always what merchants needed most, and vice versa.
What We've Built
Our platform now supports merchants selling across multiple regions with tools designed to simplify cross-border commerce:
- Multi-currency checkout: Customers can pay in their local currency while merchants receive funds in their preferred currency
- Localized storefronts: Stores can display content in multiple languages with region-appropriate formatting
- International shipping integrations: Connections to carriers serving different regions with automated rate calculations
- Tax and duty handling: Tools to help manage the complexity of cross-border taxation
These capabilities aren't revolutionary individually, but together they reduce the friction that typically prevents smaller businesses from selling internationally.
Lessons from Our Merchants
The most valuable insights we've gained come from watching how merchants actually use our platform—and where they struggle.
What's Working
Simplified Operations: Merchants consistently tell us that managing international sales from a single dashboard saves them significant time. Previously, many were juggling multiple platforms or spreadsheets to track orders across regions.
Payment Flexibility: Supporting local payment methods has made a real difference. In some markets, offering familiar payment options has noticeably improved conversion rates for our merchants.

Responsive Support: When issues arise with international orders—and they do—having support that understands cross-border commerce helps resolve problems faster.
Where We're Still Improving
We're honest about areas where our platform still has room to grow:
Shipping Complexity: International shipping remains complicated. While we've simplified rate calculations and label generation, merchants still face challenges with customs documentation and delivery exceptions.
Market-Specific Features: Some regions have unique commerce requirements that our platform doesn't yet fully address. We're working to fill these gaps, but it takes time to do properly.
Onboarding for New Markets: Expanding into a new country involves more than just enabling a currency. Merchants need guidance on local regulations, consumer expectations, and practical logistics.

How We've Strengthened Our Foundation
Behind the scenes, we've made significant investments in platform reliability and security:
Infrastructure Improvements
Regional Processing: We've expanded our infrastructure to process requests closer to where merchants and their customers are located, improving response times.
Redundancy: We've built backup systems to maintain operations during technical issues. Our goal is consistent uptime, though we acknowledge no system is perfect.
Scalability: Our infrastructure can handle increased load during peak periods like holiday shopping seasons, though we continue to test and improve this capability.

Security Practices
Data Protection: We encrypt sensitive data and follow industry-standard security practices. We undergo regular security reviews and address identified issues promptly.
Privacy Compliance: Our platform includes tools to help merchants comply with privacy regulations in different regions, though merchants remain responsible for their own compliance.
Fraud Prevention: We've implemented fraud detection systems that help protect merchants from common threats, while acknowledging that fraud tactics constantly evolve.

What We're Working On
We're focused on practical improvements rather than dramatic announcements:
Near-Term Priorities
Better Onboarding: We're developing clearer guidance for merchants expanding into new markets, including practical checklists and region-specific tips.
Shipping Improvements: We're working with more carriers and improving our tools for managing shipping exceptions and customs issues.
Analytics Enhancements: We're building better reporting to help merchants understand their cross-border performance and identify opportunities.
Longer-Term Development
Additional Markets: We're evaluating which markets to add next based on merchant demand and our ability to provide reliable service.
Platform Integrations: We're building connections to more third-party tools that merchants commonly use for accounting, marketing, and inventory management.
Mobile Experience: We're improving how merchants manage their stores from mobile devices, recognizing that many business owners aren't always at a desk.
Our Approach Going Forward
We've learned that building a global platform is a marathon, not a sprint. Our approach reflects this:
Steady Progress Over Hype: We'd rather deliver reliable improvements consistently than make promises we can't keep. Expect incremental updates rather than dramatic launches.
Merchant-Driven Development: Our roadmap is heavily influenced by what merchants actually need, not just what sounds impressive. We regularly gather feedback and adjust priorities accordingly.
Honest Communication: When things don't work perfectly—and sometimes they won't—we'll communicate clearly about what happened and what we're doing about it.
Sustainable Growth: We're building for the long term. This means sometimes saying no to shortcuts that might help in the short term but create problems later.

For Merchants Considering Global Expansion
If you're thinking about selling internationally, here's our honest advice:
Start Small: Test with one or two new markets before expanding broadly. Learn what works before scaling.
Expect Challenges: International commerce involves complexity. Budget time for learning and troubleshooting.
Use Available Resources: Take advantage of our guides, support team, and merchant community. Others have faced similar challenges.
Be Patient: Building international sales takes time. Set realistic expectations for the first year.

Looking Ahead
We're proud of the progress we've made, but we're clear-eyed about how much work remains. Building a truly global commerce platform is a continuous effort, not a destination.
Our commitment is simple: keep improving, keep listening, and keep helping merchants reach customers wherever they are. That's what we'll continue to do.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
